Morgan Fairchild (www.imdb.com/name/nm0000392/) started acting as a child in theater in her native Texas. She has now been acting for 50 years and been a member of SAG and AFTRA for 41 of those years, Equity for 40. She has worked almost all the contracts from industrials to commercials, from film to television, including, series, TV movies, and mini series, such as North and South, Parts 1, 2, 3 and 4. She had several series (Flamingo Road, Falcon Crest and Paper Dolls, and, most recently, Fashion House) and has had recurring parts in many others, including Mork and Mindy, Roseanne, Cybill, Friends (as Chandler’s mom) and, currently, Chuck. She has worked in regional theater, Broadway, Off-Broadway and several national tours, including Gentlemen Prefer Blondes and recently, The Graduate. Episodic credits go from Dallas to My Name is Earl, from Barnaby Jones to Law and Order SVU, and from Happy Days to Two and Half Men. The first movie she worked on was Bonnie and Clyde.

Morgan first joined the SAG Board as a national board member in 2002, and has been there ever since. She has been a co-chair of the Legislative Committee and on the SAG-AFTRA Relations Committee (which became the committee that fostered the last attempt at merger), as well as a member (previously and currently) of the National Executive Committee. She is currently on the Legislative Committee and a member of the SAG-AFTRA Relations Committee again. She has served on one commercials negotiating committee and was part of the task force that resolved the stalemated TV/Theatrical negotiations in ’09. She is also on the AFTRA LA board and has served as a delegate to several AFTRA conventions. Because of her connections to the real political world, Morgan was instrumental in arranging a meeting with an Undersecretary of State that included, besides SAG and AFTRA delegates, those from MPAA, AMPTP, DGA, WGA, and IATSE, to discuss the issues that affect all our memberships economically – including piracy, intellectual property law, illegal downloads and copyright infringement.

Anthony DeSantis ( www.imdb.com/name/nm0220876/) has been a SAG actor since 1996. Anthony is no longer a member of any slate or group. Since then he has done zero non-union jobs. In 2000 he was involved in the Commercial Strike, which was a mixed success. In 2003 he ran for the first time for the Board of the Screen Actors Guild as a member of the Membership First slate. This began a run of six consecutive one-year terms as a Hollywood Alternate. During that time he served on more than a dozen committees, chairing several. How do you select a casting director target list that makes your approach more effective? How can you adjust your lists over time? This leads to long term and some short-term results. In about 1995 SAG created the modified film contracts. This was in conjunction with the burgeoning internet world as well as the digital video technology. Since that time so much confusion has passed through the actor community regarding these four types of contracts. Come to understand what it really means to you as a performer to be hired under one of these agreements. What should you be paid? Who is in charge? How do I know I’m being treated fairly? What if they sell the film? Find out what deferred payment really means, along with discussing the four modified contracts. Be informed and avoid post-performance frustration.

ZOË GREEN was born in England and attended Cambridge University then UCLA directing program. Since moving to Los Angeles she has sold a TV pilot "Dreamsolver" to ABC, and miniseries "The Diamond Age" with producer George Clooney to the SyFy channel. She has written feature film "The Book of Shadows" for Rob Reiner, "Tigress" for Stan Lee and is currently writing "Gargoyles" for Disney.

Doing another mailing to the ever elusive casting community huh. Well it is time to learn some new ways to target the appropriate shows or warm leads. Also consider that there are alternatives to simply mailing an 8x10, along with more creative things to say, things to promote and ways to be different while being effective. What actors typically fail to realize is that most actors only submit to casting directors during the busiest times of the year, which is ironically the exact same time of year that all other actors are submitting and when the casting directors have the least amount of time to pay attention to your submission. Change your strategy.

Valerie Chiovetti graduated from the University of Arizona with a degree in Communication and the intention of working as a television news reporter. Call it insanity: She scrapped that game plan, loaded up the car and drove out to Los Angeles to find a job in “The Biz”! Many humbling production assistant gigs later… Valerie found herself training in the mailroom of Abrams Artists Agency but quickly landed a desk assisting one of the busy commercial agents. Two years later she was privileged enough to join her mentors as one of their co-workers when she was promoted to Commercial Agent.

The rest, as they say, is history!

In 2006 Chuck partnered up with Kimberly Lenae Foster to form Foster-McCollum Casting (Kim has since become his wife, now known as Kimberly Foster-McCollum). After a ten-year on-air and production career in Boston radio and television, Brad relocated to Los Angeles in 1981 to accept a position as a publicity executive for Norman Lear’s Tandem/TAT Productions (later Embassy Television, now Sony Pictures Television). He left that position in 1983 to establish his own agency, Lemack & Company Public Relations/Talent Management (LemackCo.com). Since then, the company has established itself in the areas of and talent management and career development for actors, as well as entertainment, personality and book publicity, business and non-profit public relations, and special event creation and production.

Brad is the author of two books for actors, the popular “The Business of Acting: Learn the Skills You Need to Build the Career You Want,” first published in 2002, and the just-published “The New Business of Acting: How to Build a Career in a Changing Landscape.” He is also the host of the Web TV series “Inside the Business of Acting” (InsideTheBusinessOfActing.com) and has been a member of the faculty at the Emerson College Los Angeles Center since 1995, where he teaches courses in the Business of Acting and in entertainment and interactive public relations.

Bart has written eight books – most recently Boffo! How I Learned to Love the Blockbuster and Fear the Bomb. He also served as executive producer of Boffo!, the documentary film produced by HBO.

Prior to Variety, Bart held a number of key studio jobs. During his eight year tenure with Paramount he played a pivotal role in developing and supervising such landmark motion pictures as The Godfather, Harold and Maude, True Grit, Rosemary’s Baby and many more.

After Paramount, Bart served as president of Lorimar Films, which produced a number of highly successful features including, Being There and The Postman Always Rings Twice. Bart also served as senior vice president of MGM/UA.

Bart was educated at Swarthmore College and the London School of Economics. He spent fifteen years as a staff reporter for The Wall Street Journal and The New York Times before entering the motion picture industry.

A Casting Director for over 12 years, she has worked in all aspects of casting: studio feature films, independents, television pilots and series and the occasional animated feature, as well as interactive projects. Michelle trained with, and eventually partnered with Joseph Middleton. She worked on the AMERICAN PIE films (1 &2), BRING IT ON, LEGALLY BLONDE and THE BOURNE IDENTITY. In 2002, she replaced Joanna Colbert as VP of Casting for Universal Studios while she was on maternity leave. Then she stayed on as a Casting Executive in the department for a year. She cast DONNIE DARKO (with Jake Gyllenhaal), HONEY (with Jessica Alba, Mekhi Phifer,Lil Romeo), BIG FAT LIAR (with Paul Giamatti, Amanda Bynes and Frankie Muniz) and MR. & MRS. SMITH (with Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie).  She completed her 3rd season on HBO’s Project Greenlight (casting the horror film FEAST) and the TV crime drama HEIST.  She currently is casting a romantic comedy for Playtone called MATERIAL GIRL and an action-fantasy based on the video game KING OF FIGHTERS for Double Edge Entertainment & Inferno. 

Darci Monet is a classically and commercially trained professional vocalist, vocal coach, independent recording artist and award-winning songwriter. She gave her first professional performance at age eleven in Upstate New York in a local production of "Annie", began her professional career during college at Belmont University in Nashville as a studio singer, songwriter and recording artist and continues now in Los Angeles, adding premier vocal coach to her already diverse resume.

Darci's vocal credits include principal performances in film and television ("Napoleon Dynamite", "How I Met Your Mother"), live performances and master recording sessions with major label artists (Dolly Parton, Steve Winwood, Amy Grant, The Judds, etc.), songwriter demos (ABC sitcom "Hope and Faith") and national ads (Subway Corporation). Live, Darci currently performs backup for top ten Billboard-charting dance diva/rocker Debby Holiday.

Songs she has written have been featured in indie movies and major network television shows ("Sons of Anarchy," "Kiss The Bride" starring Tori Spelling, "The Apprentice," "The Young & The Restless," "Days of Our Lives"), won awards and honorable mentions in prestigious songwriting competitions (Unisong Songwriting Contest, Great American Song Contest, Billboard Songwriting Contest), and have been cut on major label albums (Music With A Twist, distributed by Columbia) and successful indie albums (Levi Kreis).

Darci Monet CAN DO and STILL DOES what she teaches! She brings twenty-plus years of formal study, hands-on experience and down-to-earth presence to her coaching. She offers training in contemporary vocal styles (with a mix of classical and speech level techniques), basic musicianship, ear training and songwriting consultation. Darci's clients include a 2010 Tony winner (Million Dollar Quartet), currently touring singers (Rent), professional actors and dancers (Avatar, American Idol, 24), corporations (Choice Hotels, Emu Australia) and several up-and-coming entertainers currently performing at L.A.'s historic rock clubs, cabarets and theaters. In order to accomplish what it is you want out of your career both long term and short term it becomes essential to know what it is you want. In this profession we must not only know our goals, but also put them in writing. It is also paramount that you begin to learn and understand the differences between a goal and a task so that you’re careful not to over promise your mind, and then get upset with yourself. Once you start writing out goals, creating tasks lists and base both of them on your personal values and focused professional desire, you’re set.

Mr. Bee worked consistently as a steadicam operator throughout the 1990’s for Feature Films: Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me, Bowfinger, Deep Impact, Titanic, Crazy in Alabama, The Peacemaker and more. In the last few years he has Directed many TV shows including: "Criminal Minds","Jericho","Harper's Island", "Knight Rider", "Sarah Connor Chronicles","Kyle XY", "The Middleman", “Alias”, “ER”, “Supernatural”, “Veronica Mars”, and “Las Vegas”. He Co-Produced the TV series “Third Watch” in 2003. There is a lot to be learned from this man.

This is an opportunity to discuss any issues and concerns you may have regarding your career or pursuit. Get other actors perspective on your issue so that we all become more prepared and informed about our careers. An issue can be as simple as asking about an acting coach to as difficult as how to handle an agent who is asking you out on a date.

Tracy Metro (and yes, that IS her real name!) is a television host who firmly believes that TAN is as beneficial for her career as it is for the actors in the network.  Why?  Because it’s not about the kinds of jobs everybody gets, but about the process by which everyone takes to get those jobs.

In Tracy’s Hostess-with-the-Mostess Workshop, you’ll have the opportunity to watch hosting demos (good and bad), ask any questions you have about hosting (agents and union status) and then you’ll get a hosting workout.  You’ll practice the art of the cue card, the infomercial pitch, partner reads and more.  Scripts will be provided; however, feel free to bring any hosting scripts on which you like to be coached.

Tracy got her start in news at the ripe age of 13, when she was a guest commentator on “News Bag,” a Fox Television news program for children.  Soon after, she went on to host “Dance Club 21,” an American Bandstand-style show, for the Washington, DC area.  Metro fled the nation’s capital for the bright lights of Manhattan where she attended and graduated from New York University’s TISCH School of the Arts.

After relocating to Los Angeles, Metro began working as an on-air television host for TLC, Fine Living, Discovery, E!, Disney, HDnet, and even working for Mr. Reality Television, Mark Burnett, in the areas of cooking, DIY, fashion, shopping, green lifestyle, entertainment news, craft, et al.  Metro has been a local news reporter, a traffic reporter for CBS as well as Executive Producer of Discovery Health’s special, Born Schizophrenic. And, if you’re ever up in the middle of the night you can sometimes see her hawking a wacky product in an infomercial she’s hosting!

Tracy resides full-time in Los Angeles and is married to Marty Metro (CEO of UsedCardboardBoxes.com) and is the proud mommy of a rescued Italian Greyhound named Sasekele.
